Scientific work
After working towards satisfying social, educational, and managerial demands for a certain time, the Boards of Trustees and of Provosts decided to split off Accounting and Auditing, and Finance and Credit from the Department of Business Administration, to form the Department of Finance and Accounting, following decision number 905 QĐ/ĐHDT of 15th November 1999.
After going through many organizational changes, the current Faculty of Accounting was founded on 21st November 2003 with decision number 1095/03/QĐ/ĐHDT and officially started its activities the 1st December 2003. Mirroring the development of the university itself, the Faculty has incessantly developed, improved, increased its educational quality, diversified its courses and ways of training, and the number of students has always been on the rise. Up from around 200 students in the year of its founding, the Faculty now has almost 5000 regular students in academic, professional, and transition programs. Up to now, there have been fifteen academic and seven professional classes graduating (for a total of 6000 Bachelors of Accounting). Many students have found a good place in the job market, some of them holding important functions in businesses, corporations, and in governmental agencies nationwide.
We have a young and dynamic full-time teaching corps, 100% of which hold post-graduate degrees. The goals the Department always works towards are:
“Training our students to be able to work in all kinds of businesses, agencies, and organizations in society; to be able to adapt well to any work conditions; to proficiently use informatics and foreign languages; to be equipped with an inquisitive consciousness and up-to-date information in their specialization; and to always base their learning on the four main pillars: Learning to know, learning to do, learning to live together, learning to be.”
